Exclusive Alumni Hike with Placer Land Trust: Enjoy private trails before they open to the public!

Join fellow Greater Sacramento Area alumni for an unforgettable outdoor adventure hosted by Placer Land Trust! This is a rare opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Placer region (near Hidden Falls) in an intimate setting while connecting with old friends and making new ones.

About this event: Placer Land Trust trained docents will lead you on a hike through our local natural wonders. Learn about the local flora and fauna, take in the amazing views, and see why this permanently protected preserve is a gift to current and future generations!

Distance and difficulty: 4-5 miles and will take approximately 3-4 hours. It is an easy to moderate hike on uneven ground with some rough terrain and an elevation gain of around 500 ft.

Who should attend: People who can hike slowly to moderately. This hike is not recommended for children under 7. Sorry, no dogs are allowed unless they are service animals due to potential conflicts with livestock and wildlife.

Feel free to bring a lunch to enjoy after your activity. The gates to the preserve will be closed at 12:30 pm.

This is a free event; however, donations help make these activities possible! We suggest a donation of $10 per person or $25 for a family. You can donate during registration.

About Big Hill Preserves:
These preserves protect critical unfragmented oak woodlands in the Raccoon Creek watershed and are part of one of the last relatively “wild” areas in western Placer County. The trails on these preserves meander past spectacular rock formations, the gently flowing Raccoon Creek, and panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada foothills and Sacramento Valley. Learn more about this beautiful preserve  here.

This activity is a wilderness outing in a natural setting. PLT reserves the right to cancel an event in cases of extreme weather, bad air quality, rain, or other conditions beyond our control.

Directions to the Preserve will be emailed after registration. Check your spam folder if you do not receive the email within 15 minutes of registering.
