Being the nerds that we are, the Cal Alumni of the San Gabriel Valley will be doing its annual Pi Day celebration.
From its mid-century modern wallpaper to bright orange booths, Cindy’s on Colorado Boulevard still feels like the Route 66 diner it once was. The diner has maintained most of its original design elements throughout closures, as well as many changes in ownership, over its decades-long history. Though the spot on Colorado has been a restaurant since the mid-1930s, it was not until 1948 that it became Cindy’s, named after the original owner’s daughter.
Cindy's was featured in the music video for "Can't Stop the Feeling!" by Justin Timberlake and the NBC crime drama Aquarius. The diner has also been featured in Surviving Christmas starring Ben Affleck.
Sadly, Cindy's sister restaurant, Fox's in Altadena burned down during the Eaton Fire. There is a GoFundMe to support the staff of Fox's. https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-foxs-restaurant-staff-postfire
